He married twice. He married Suzanne Robillard in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1834. He married Olive Plante in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1856. Olive became the mother of Marie Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1856. Olive became the mother of Joseph Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1858. Olive became the mother of Dieudonne Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1860. Olive became the mother of Marie-Celonie Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1862. Olive became the mother of Pierre Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1864.

At 46 years of age Vital became the father of Marie Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1856. At 48 years of age Vital became the father of Joseph Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1858. At 50 years of age Vital became the father of Dieudonne Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1860. At 52 years of age Vital became the father of Marie-Celonie Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1862. At 54 years of age Vital became the father of Pierre Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1864.

Vital Durand and Olive Plante had the following children:

508 i. Marie⁷ Durand was born in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que 1856. Marie died 1861 in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, at 5 years of age.

511 iv. Marie-Celonie Durand was born in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que 1862. She married Omer Bourgeault in St. Hugues, Que., 1885.

512 v. Pierre Durand was born in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que 1864.
