He married Bertha Moquin in St. Pierre, Montreal. Bertha became the mother of Yvon Durand in St. Etienne, Montreal, 1935. Bertha became the mother of Lise Durand in St. Etienne, Montreal, 1937. Bertha became the mother of Pierette Durand 1939. Bertha became the mother of Gilles Durand 1941.

At 28 years of age Emile became the father of Yvon Durand in St. Etienne, Montreal, 1935. At 30 years of age Emile became the father of Lise Durand in St. Etienne, Montreal, 1937.
