He married Claris Houde in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1850. Claris became the mother of Ambroise Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1851. Claris became the mother of Joseph Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1853.

At 21 years of age Ambroise became the father of Ambroise Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1851. At 23 years of age Ambroise became the father of Joseph Durand in Saint-cuthbert [berthier], Que, 1853.

Ambroise Durand and Claris Houde had the following children:
