He married Virginia Kathryn Albrecht in East Grand Forks, Mn, 15 Aug 1942. Virginia was born in Minneapolis, Mn 5 Jan 1923. Virginia was the daughter of Joseph Albrecht and Eva Spenst. Virginia died 31 Jul 2000 in Fort Worth, Tx, at 77 years of age. At 20 years of age Virginia became the mother of Linda Maureen Petersen in Bemidji, Mn, 3 Jul 1943. At 23 years of age Virginia became the mother of Susan Kathryn Petersen in Bemidji, Mn, 27 Jul 1946. At 37 years of age Virginia became the mother of Robert Anthony Petersen in Tucson, Az, 18 Apr 1960.

At 38 years of age Clifford became the father of Robert Anthony Petersen in Tucson, Az, 18 Apr 1960.
