She was a spunky, energetic, severely handicapped woman who was loved, admired and respected ty two generations of Durands and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

My Father’s Violin by Beatrice Durand Derrick. My most cherished memory of my childhood is of our fireplace and my father and his violin. Father had built this fireplace out of beautiful red brick, which he had manufactured himself, and he was proud of it.
